July 22nd Update
I know I haven't updated in a while. We have been busy. Grady is growing like a weed. He weighs about 12 pounds now. He continues to do great! Last night he slept for almost 6 hours. We are coming up on the 6 week mark this week, and again, all is going great. At this point, it should be much safer to get him out into public. We actually took him to Sunday School this morning, and we went to Target and Lowes this evening. We continue to get him out for daily walks in the neighborhood, as we as short hikes at the Arboretum and even Pisgah Forest along the Davidson River (Near Brevard), two weeks ago. Below is a picture of that, as well as several other latest pics:

Grady's First Outing / Hike
We took Grady to the North Carolina Arboretum this evening for a short hike. He did great!! Jen carried him in one of the front carriers while I photographed the occasion. We had not been to the Arboretum in a while and had forgotten how great it is. Plus, it is only about 3 miles / 5 minutes from our house. We will be frequenting that place in the future!

July 4th Update
Grady is now 3 weeks old and doing great. He had a two week check up last week and was already 9 pounds, 13 ounces. He is surely over 10 pounds now. He continues to have a great temperament, and will sometimes go 5 hours between feedings. His postules that he had developed on his hands and feet and just about cleared up, and his thrush is gone. We have been getting him out almost daily in the neighborhood for walks and strolls. We have used the stroller and different front carriers. Jen is doing well, though she has an awful rash, which less than 1% of pregnant women contract after delivery. Hopefully she will get better soon. Below are some of his latest pictures. Enjoy.

Day 10 Update
Grady is 10 days old now and is doing very well. Obviously he is not sleeping through the night, but he does give us some nice 3-4 hour windows. He is growing and appears to be very healthy. At the doctor's visit last Tuesday, he was almost back up to his birth weight. He has another check up this week. It seems as if he changes daily. I am trying to take pictures of him every day to keep up with his growth. I think I have gotten used to changing diapers, it really isn't too bad. He has only gotten me onece or twice. I love holding him, he feels do good in my arms. He truly is a blessing.

Welcome Home
Grady had a very good night last night. We all got a lot of sleep, he is doing very well. This morning we got good reports from both doctors and with that, we were discharged from the hospital. We welcomed Grady into his new home Friday afternoon. He seems to be adjusting quite well. He and Mom have both gotten naps and appear to be settling into somewhat of an initial routine.
The Number One Rule of Newborns
There is lots we obviously need to know about newborns. They can be quite complicated. However, there is really just one thing you need to remember. When the baby is asleep, you BETTER be asleep. As long as you remember that rule, life will be just dandy.
The Good Ol' Days of ESP
We often look back in our lives and recall a period of time that was really great. Maybe it was high school, or college, or early marriage, etc. I wonder if any of us remember the days of ESP. What is that you ask, well: Eat, Sleep, Poop! Right now that is all Grady has to worry about. As long as he does those three things, life is perfect. Those really were the good ol' days!

Evening Update
Grady has had a busy day. He was circumcised this morning, and has had some blood work done, and several nurses in to check his vitals periodically. Some for all the tests have shown good results. He appears to be healthy and normal. He also had and passed his hearing test. I managed to get about 4 hours of sleep this afternoon, Jen, not so lucky. Obviously I will take over soon after he nurses and hopefully she can rest. Here are a few new pictures of he and his daddy.

Survived Our First Night
Mom and Dad survived our first night as parents. He got a little fussy around midnight, for the first time, and that last for several hours. We finally did get a couple of hours of sleep, before the new day began. It is busy around here in the morning. The Pediatrician just checked him out and said that he looks very good. Grady just got back from being circumcised, I was invited to watch, but declined the offer. We have been told that he will be ready to sleep, maybe for 4-6 hours. We are really looking forward to that, never has a 4-6 hour nap sounded so good! Mom is doing well, some aches and pains, but recovering very well. We are set to go home sometime Friday morning.
